Bonjour!

Good'day maties! My sincere apologies in delaying the conclusion of this magnificent event. I have been unfortunately overwhelmed by this transition back to school and moving and etc., but I assure you I am still here, and will conclude this project within the week. Soon to rejoice in the arrival of holiday greeting cards/drawings/miniature flags/zines/giant pygmy crustaceans/etc. for all those who have helped make this blog posting extravaganza extravagant. And more images online for all besides. Thanks!

This is an old teddy bear in an alley I noticed a year ago. It hasn't moved, I imagine the bear wasn't always swamp-like.

croxing

Tuesday (9hrs, 103 total)

This horse is a bit wilder than others, and also well integrated into rock vibrance society. The colors are a bit painful to look at in this pic, but I have already begun adding nice dirty deep shadows to sooth.

This is a horse sketch, a destrier on tiptoes. Below I also have a picture of the cover to "the last unicorn" by Peter S. Beagle. I am thinking the horse image I seek is a combination of these sorts of horses with a warning deer crossing road sign. I would like to perfect the image(s) and screenprint them onto similar metal road sign duplicates. I would then install them by some road as a sort of poetic horse vision awareness movement.

I've also been thinking of making some family crests out of popular logos, ecombining them to take away/change their meaning.

Here is images:

Here is a lumpy flying teddy, I would like to round the ends of his appendages a bit more so it doesn't look so much like a severed body (though I suppose all teddies could look like their limbs have been hacked in half).

Going to fill in the space around this one and teddy and birdie below etc. too.

All done!

Let me take this moment to tell the tale of squirrels and deer and the spray bottle that would. I was drawing my root dude a few days ago and chattering squirrel somehow was threatened by my presence or my mark making and defended his sensibilities through loud intimidation. I, not wishing to be attacked, remembered the Dog TV show I had seen recently. In many of these episodes the trainer uses noise diversion to shock the animal. She also has a canister of air to spray near them too if the noise doesn't work alone. I had bug spray. Not intending to spray the squirrel directly (which was still 15 ft away or so), I merely pshh pshhed it and the squirrel decided it did not wish to inquire more of the source of such a sound and ran away.

Not long after I heard a very strange noise myself. A sort of truck rumbling or moaning (very strange for the middle of the woods). Looking up I saw a large deer making very odd noises at me, about as far away again as the squirrel, but from the other side of me. Again my spray bottle noise was something to be reckoned with and I did not have to do battle with any kindly woodland animals that day. Bless the trainer of Dogs!

Thursday (10 hrs, 65 total)

Today I looked up a ton of horse pictures and did many sketches. I had a vision whilst half awake a few nights ago of a horse surrounded by wiggly lines that I found to be especially meaningful. I did a quick sketch, but have since misplaced it. I remembered it today and have had no luck in recalling the peculiar position and proportion of this very special horse. I have looked at regular horses, prehistoric, rocking, sea, toy, and carousel. It is a combination of the carousel horse leg posture, rocking horse rump, and sea horse neck and head I think.

There are some sketches of other animals in wiggly lines here as I am fascinated by the idea of putting animal silhouettes in a sort of power/energy line space. I also like the idea of rocking horses and carousels and teddy bears, symbols from our childhood of imaginary playmates. Maybe my horse image is an image I had at a very young age of what my carousel horse looked like when it went off riding by itself at night.

This possum visited today while I was drawing (I think I was in the path of his usual Monday stroll). It was my brother's birthday today so I only had half a day. The drawing is not yet done, but well on it's way. Here are some of it's stages -=

And may I mention that when I last went there were to be found no less than six ticks on the very paper I was drawing on! I saw maybe thirty within a foot of me, and four on my leg. Thankfully none were a-biting. I read on wikipedia that they can sense heat and such and will actively stalk their prey, which I have seen. Today though I had no such problems, I think they must like the bamboo very much.

Though I did see butterflies and squawking squirrels and snorting deer and supersized dragonflies, as well as a tiny toad.

I began writing a story for the green drawing, and have another drawing well on its way.

6.5 hours so far for this fellow (I apologize for the poor quality of this picture, I photographed it inside after dark)

Here is a small wonder, the setting sun lined up to come through a little lamppost!

Monday: Day One (10 hrs)

Hiyo! A spectacular start, I explored the grounds, saw a Gigantic red fox, played with clay from the Earth, took many photos and made up some poems. For now I will share a little stick drawing I played with for 4 hrs. I am going to work the background more and write a very short story in there. The drawing is made with Micron pen, highlighter and dirt on neon green paper. Woop, I will post more thoroughly after I sleep.

Donations

Hello, the button below is for donating to this project through Paypal, the very secure tried and true online way. We could arrange other options too if you are not comfortable with the online transaction thing.

I have been asking my friends and family for either a 10, 25, 50, or 100 cent per hour donation, depending on what I imagine their fondness of myself to be or their financial resources. Help out with any amount you wish or a per hour donation times 300 (10 cents for each hour slaved away in the sun equals $30 total, 50 cents times 300 hours is 150 dollars, etc.) Happy donating!! Thank you for this gift, you won't regret!

The Plan

300 hours of awesome you say? Why yes, the time of rising tides and trumpeting challenges comes forward as the earth tilts this very hemisphere into the sunny sun.

For the good of all sharing and explorations I will dive into the bamboo forests of Kinder Farm Park and make a variety of artworks. These inspired and wonderful pieces, ranging from drawings (these far more than others I am thinking) to poetry, sculpture to video, will be documented and shown to you Oh-Loving-Public via Blogg. I will make a zine of these at the end of August too.

I am in need of sponsors to help me do this. Like a marathon to raise money for charity, your per hour donation ensures good things have a chance to flourish. Such as my having the ability to make rent and food 'till school starts (one year left!)
and also make fun good art to give back to you.

For any who decide to help, I will give you an original piece and the limited edition zine when finished. Oh what raptures await you! I could be jealous, imagining your delights in finding new creations each and every day on this very blog.. but I am in the far better position of fighting the ticks and mosquitoes myself in order to leak my head out upon the paper with more vim and vigor. We are both very fortunate.

300 hours of Awesome. It's a lot of awesome. I will spend 10 hours a day, 6 days a week, for 5 weeks, exploring and perfecting the craft. Each day the efforts will be shown and shared, right here. Please, join us.
